I live, I breathe
I destroy myself and you…
The abyss that will never let me see the above.
The Sun rises and sets… forever, maybe
but I never see the light.
Inside circles of my doppelgangers
I try to point fingers,
to let the guilt out.
The fingers come back to me…
“I am Breaking My Heart” is an audiovisual performance by Leart Rama, violently exploring grief, hysteria and numbness. It is a deep dive into the weight of shame and self-destruction, and the silent whispers that say: “Whatever you are, it’s your fault.”
“I am Breaking My Heart” was originally created during Rama’s artist-in-residency Q21 Wien and performed in 2019, with support from CEL Kosovo and Youth artivists for change.
