On Wednesday, October 14, at 6:00 PM, we will meet at Kino Armata for an online discussion with Dr. Lara Sheehi—moderated by Elena Morina—to critically reimagine psychoanalysis and its origins together.
Dr. Sheehi is a researcher at the Institute for Social and Health Sciences at the University of South Africa, a licensed clinical psychologist, and the host of the "Psychic Militancy" podcast. Her work focuses on psychoanalysis, the psychic refusals essential to liberation struggles and the creation of life in the Global South, and critical studies on Zionism. She is the co-author, with Stephen Sheehi, of the books Psychoanalysis Under Occupation: Practicing Resistance in Palestine and From the Clinic to the Streets: Psychoanalysis for Revolutionary Futures. Dr. Sheehi is a founding member of the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism and serves on the advisory board of Forensic Architecture.
We look forward to seeing you there!
